ROXAS: IN WHATEVER SCENARIO, NOYNOY STILL #1

Liberal Party President Senator Mar Roxas today said that LP standard-bearer Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III still is the candidate to beat in 2010.

Citing new information revealed in a survey commissioned by a Villar ally done by the Social Weather Stations in December 27-28 last year, he said that Noynoy leads by a formidable 4 to 5 million votes in all scenarios explored.

The forces of reform as represented by Noynoy consistently prevail in whatever scenario they try to cook up),” he said.

The people want newly cooked rice, not yesterday’s leftover rice. They want real change, not more of the same),” he stressed.

In a commissioned survey by the Social Weather Stations, Aquino retains his lead with a 44% rating, leading his next competitor by 11 percentage points. This is the main scenario, where all 8 presidential candidates are listed.

Aquino also maintains a strong lead in these scenarios (see attached):

· If former President Joseph Estrada is not listed, a lead of 11 points.

· If administration candidate Gilbert Teodoro is not listed, 10 points.

· In all three-way battle scenarios (with Senator Manuel Villar and either Estrada or Teodoro), 10 points.

· In a one-on-one battle with Villar, 8 points.

Only one scenario is closer to the truth, and this is where Noynoy leads the seven other candidates),” he stressed.

The only means the competition has to counter Noynoy’s platform for clean and honest governance is to splurge in advertising and in black operations. They are bombarding the airwaves to the point of saturation),” he said.

Pero ang pinakamahalaga: 50% man si Noynoy, 20% o kahit pa 1%, pursigido siya sa laban para sa tapat at tuwid na pamumuno (What’s most important is whether Noynoy’s rating is 50%, 20% or even 1%, he is committed to the fight for clean and honest government),” he stressed.

Mr. Villar did not attend the C-5 hearing. If he is indeed innocent of the charges, he should have attended it and faced the music. Sometimes, evasion is spelled as "g-u-i-l-t-y-". Noynoy has never been involved in any controversy. They question his ability to lead in case he wins? The Filipino people must decide at this critical point of our history. Mr. Villar who does not even have the nerve to face a simple hearing? Could he face his constituents as president? Mr. Erap? Well, he was there and ano'ng nagawa nya? And bakit ibinoto natin? 100% sure po ako na kahit sino ang next president, in his term, di nya kayang ayusin ang lahat ng problema pero it is a good starting point. Sa akin, Noynoy is the best choice.

Sinabi ko lang po ang nasa isip ko at alam ko na I am entitled to it.
