MAR ROXAS POSTS FIVE-POINT GAIN IN LATEST PULSE ASIA SURVEY

According to Pulse Asia's latest survey (May 14-17, 2009) of who would be the voter's choice of the next Philippine President, Vice President Noli de Castro has 18 percent from 19 percent; Sen. Chiz Escudero has 17 percent from 17 percent; Deposed President Joseph Estrada has 15 percent from 16 percent; Sen. Manny Villar has 14 percent from 15 percent; and Sen. Mar Roxas leaped to 13 percent from 8 percent. Analysts say that the five aspirants are in a statistical tie, given a margin of error of plus-or-minus 3 percentage points at the 95 percent confidence level.

Presidential aspirant Mar Roxas is noticeably No. 1 in the Visayas. A Philippine Daily Inquirer report (June 2, 2009) stated that Roxas attributed his five-point gain in the latest Pulse Asia Survey to his pro-poor advocacies and programs. With the presidential election still a year away, and support for Roxas consistently snowballing, I am confident that a Liberal President will lead this nation to a new brand of politics.

I am always reading your blog here in Spain. My question Vice is: Is there any Spanish newspaper or magazine in Vigan? Is Spanish still spoken in Vigan?

Thank you

Dear Fernando,

Thank you for reading my blog. I'm sorry to inform you that Spanish is no longer spoken here in Vigan. There is no Spanish newspaper or magazine. However, the City government is planning to put up a school for languages and hopefully the use of Spanish language will be revived.

Hello! Mr. Mar Padjak a.k.a. Con-Asswang Bawang. Who cares about false survey? An election result is already a done deal for the Gloria’s presidential bet. We expect the repeat of massive election cheating in 2010. She desperately needs a protection or puppet padrino for her crimes against the Filipino people. Gloria Arroyo and her cohorts stole billions of pesos from the government and through corruption. She uses government money to fund her own travels, and personal expenses. I think Sen. Mar Roxas has little chance to win the presidency in a five-man presidential derby.

Will there be elections or revolution?

Revolution will put an end to abusive Arroyo regime and the resurrection of Filipino nationalism. Philippine government is controlled by comprador-big landlords, powerful and influential families. Political dynasties in every national election have succeeded in capturing key government posts largely through patronage politics and manipulation of election results and bribery. The prime motive in holding elected posts is the protection of their personal and family interests. Filipino nationalism is the key to end poverty and backwardness in the countryside.

Ike, is it really you? You sound like Jose Maria Sison. However, you are an expert marksman. You hit the bull's eye with three bullets with just one hole!

Philippine political circus has begun. Money will flow to buy votes. Nothing has change since 1898 U.S. occupation. Politicos and bureaucrats are really enjoy running the government like Satan enjoys running hell. The truth hurts.

I am leaning towards Mar Roxas but his poaaible choice of VP in the person of Ping Lacson might force me not to vote for him.

Why I would vote for Roxas:

He knows his grassroot constituents. I don't believe that he is foolish to soil his last name. Roxases served his country with dignity in the persons of a president and a senator. He is not also a fool to stain the name of a great party whose grand old man, the venerable Jovy Salonga, the incorruptible and nation fiscalizer, is of great influence. Mar Roxas belongs to an affluent family and since Mar joined the government, I haven't heard an issue that he is corrupt. Never in the past that I heard that the wealth of the Aranetas and Roxases. came from evil but from hard work. As president, he will change the kind of politics the Philippines have by restoring its dignity.

I hope he will not choose Lacson for that would defeat his presidential ambition.

Mar Roxas is weak in Metro Manila, Luzon and Mindanao. Metro Manila populace “represents “ all regions in the Philippines. Nobody wins the presidency without Metro Manila votes. He has already spent about P256 million in TV ads targeting class D and E audiences. His Visayas votes can be easily wipe-out thru Jose Pidal’s TIM/Smartmatic voting (cheating) machines. I may vote Mar Roxas for Vice-President 2010. He will be ready for the presidency in 2016. Please take a look at this table below.
