yay, the guts!.. well, here's what she's got to say about that pageant anyway..
For women like us, widowed, separated or with spousesabroad, life is never easy. We may seemhappy, laughing on the outside, as everyone sees. Sadly, being known to bealone, we are objects of lustful eyes, or as women ready for action, victims ofthe infamous law of society's double standard. ....

But think again, it is not fun being alone. Inside these pretty women, gorgeous in their
clothes, radiant with their smiles, is a broken heart. So, while u see us in our one-night splendor, pretty and daring in our casual dress and sportswear, we beg of you to see us, not with lustful eyes, not as women ready for action, but as brave courageous women, looking after their children, longing for the company of a better half. Yes, alone, perhaps lonely, but not desperate. ....

Look at us again, and see how lucky our spouses are. At the same time, think of your wives and partners and see how lucky you are too. I hope that as u ponder, you will realize that women are not objects, who are to be desired, not by what they have between their legs, but by what they have between their ears, and what they have deep in their hearts. ....

For me and the other 12 broken-hearted women u have just seen ramp on the stage, this evening will now form part of the many stories we shall tell our grandchildren. It shall
be a dinner table topic we will always fondly remember, nang magwala si Lola at magsabog ng kababalaghan sa buong Vigan. But above all, we shall be remembered as the gutsy 13 who dared tread the ramp to represent their teams. By agreeing to represent
our teams, we have proven that we have more guts than others, for we have conquered our fears. This night will certainly make a difference in our lives. We have discovered that we can do anything, if we put ourselves to it. And no matter what happens, there is always a first time. ....
