Globalization is basically exercising one's freedom to compete. Competition always results in doing one's best in every endeavor. Every competitor wants to prevail over the other. If done within the bounds of the law and universally accepted principles, competition is healthy and becomes an effective tool for development. In the Philippines, many local government units (LGUs) strive to outdo each other in terms of public management. Some LGUs try to replicate the best practices of local governments of other countries. The spirit to become competitive goes beyond the Philippine boundaries.
As a tool for development, Globalization plays an important role in addressing the issue on poverty. The worldwide demand for micro–financing and entrepreneurship is gradually empowering small businesses to contribute to the economic growth of third world countries. It would be unnatural to resist globalization when everybody is competing in the world market.

indeed globalisation offers very attractive opportunity for everyone to be part of the "competition" but we must take to consideration what competions means... it still comes down to saying "many are called but few are chosen" i mght not be using most od the political any economic sense but one needs not to think to hard about the real effects of globalisation if all it offers in terms of economic development is free trade competition its clear those who will suffer the most are those already living in lower and middle class people of not just a particular nation or region but on a global scale and soon even those in the educational sector for example the various scholars writers and authors in support of the liberal views of globalisation will also feel the strong and fatal sqeeze of the globalisation process.
